Music Club: The 1975

Picture of The 1975

Skinny boys with ripped jeans and over sized shirts, messy hair and tattoos, strong yet cute British accent, black and white music videos and poppy songs. YES, I'm taking about my favorite band, the 1975.

The 1975 is a four man band from Manchester, which consists of Matt Healy (vocals), Adam Hann (guitar), George Daniel (drums), and Ross Mac Donald (bass). They all met at school in their early teens and 'been playing music together since then . As of now, they have released four EPs ( face down, sex, music for cars and IV), have released a self-titled debut album which went straight up in the no. 1 spot in UK hit chart last September 2013, had an international tour and even played at Coachella festival last April.

Their self titled album has 17 tracks with a context of sex, love, drugs and death. What makes it more interesting and unique is that most of their songs are super poppy and fun but at the same time their lyrics are kinda dark.

Here are some of my favorite tracks from their album:

Girls

Settle Down

                                                                 Chocolate

                                                                Sex

                                                              Robbers

If I'm going to rate them I'd give them a perfect 10. Why? Because their entire album is indeed fantastic (and matt is so adorable. Hehe)! Their songs are so catchy and rad. Aside from that, it never fails to give me an intense rush and I always catch myself smiling whenever I listen to them.

I was able to watched them performed when they went here early this year and I can say that they're really gooooooooooooooddddddd and I really think that they're one of the most refreshing sounds I've heard in a while.
Too bad though, my brother accidentally deleted all of the pictures that I took that day :(

Anyway,  I will definitely be keeping an eye on these guys for years to come, specially on Matt Healy. Hope they'll come back here anytime soon!

PS

If you don't sing The 1975's songs with Matt Healy's accent then you're doing it really wrong.
